About us

Adolescent Health and Rights Trust Africa (AHRTA)

AHRTA is a coalition of care—a tapestry of health workers, lawyers, educators, data analysts, policy experts, faith leaders, and adolescent advocates bound by one belief: no child should enter adulthood through trauma.

Our Vision

A society where every adolescent is healthy, protected, and empowered to lead.

Our Mission

To promote and safeguard the physical, emotional, and social well-being of adolescents across Kenya and Africa through advocacy, education, service delivery, strategic litigation, and policy reform.

About AHRTA

Our Core Values

Inclusivity

Every adolescent. Every background. Every voice.

Empathy

We center care, not judgment. Listening, not labeling.

Accountability

We hold duty bearers to their obligations—and ourselves to impact.

Social Justice

We challenge systems that profit from silence and inequality.

Human Rights

We advocate not for charity, but for justice.
Our Work

What we do

At the heart of our work lies an unshakable belief: adolescents are not a demographic to be managed, but a generation to be empowered. We envision a Kenya where adolescents are not merely recipients of care but architects of their own futures. Where policy meets practice. Where silence is replaced with voice. And where care is not episodic—but systemic, consistent, and just. Our work stretches across five transformational pillars:
